The shop opened for a test drive on January 18th to rave reviews!
Brand new products, an expanded beading department, fresh open space and a first floor classroom are just some of the improvements we've happily added.
Construction is still being finished up down in the basement where eventually we will have our offices, workshop room for all of our machines to create customized stamps, ribbons and more. Additionally, we finally have the storage space we have needed for YEARS!!!
Plans for our official Grand Re-Opening are still in the works.
In the meantime, we are now open six days a week and have extended our hours on Thursdays till 7 PM.

By now you know that we had to set up a temporary shop at our former bead shop building.
It was very disappointing not to be open in our brand new shop for the Christmas season this year.
The renovations and construction end of the project have fallen over 2 months behind schedule due to a variety of reasons that unfortunately our contractor thought he could deal with but "life happens" as they say.
We sold our building at 38 East Market Street in early November.
We are now bringing in everyone we can (including some of our customer's spouses) to help get the new shop finished and ready for the new year.
We wish everyone a healthy and crafty Christmas season and an even healthier and craftier 2012!

We are up to our eyeballs (literally) in moving boxes, display fixtures, racks and construction dust!
It will be a couple of weeks before we will be able to officially open the doors to our brand new, gorgeous shop.

Updates!
Things are beginning to pick up speed at The Crafting Cottage.
We just hosted a phenomenal class yesterday with Karen Lockhart of Lockhart Stamps.
We are winding down with our various sales and soon we will focus on packing up all the fixtures, products and equipment.
The next phase will be the actual "move" into our new home and setting things up.
However, we can't do that until we have the "Certificate of Occupany" which comes from the Code Enforcement Office.
We won't receive that until everything is finished and passes all the various tests.
We honestly wish we could answer the question, "So, do you know when you'll be in the new place?"
The contractor is working seven days a week trying to get everything finished.
We want to do this right.
IF WE HAVE to set up our new products in our current shop - we will do that.
We will keep everyone informed.

As you can imagine, we are all very excited and anxious to begin physically moving into our new shop.
Construction and renovations continue to move along. We, of course, had hoped to be closer to mid-September for our moving date but we'll be thrilled if we can start moving at the end of September.
